TURALBA FOUNDATION SCHOLARS - Arch. Antonio A. Turalba, Sr., chairman of the Active Group (far right), one of the country's leading real estate developers, symbolically hands over a mock-up check to the scholars of the Turalba Foundation at the recently-held 14th Chairman's Cup at the Mount Malarayat Golf & Country Club in Lipa, Batangas. The foundation helps subsidize the annual tuition of 20 college and 10 high school students enrolled at De La Salle Lipa. In the past 10 years, 49 Turalba Foundation scholars have already graduated, and are gainfully employed.


The 14th Mount Malarayat Chairman's Cup Tees Off January 21st

The world-class Mount Malarayat Golf & Country Club in Lipa City, Batangas opens its championship greens for the 14th Chairman's Cup Tournament on Saturday, January 21, 2012.

The tournament was created by Arch. Antonio Turalba, Sr., chairman of the Active Group, for the benefit of 30 Turalba Foundation scholars who are pursuing their college education at De La Salle College Lipa. The Active Group, now celebrating its 42nd year as one of the country's leading real estate companies, is the developer of the Mount Malarayat Golf & Country Club.

Mount Malarayat's 27-hole all-weather championship golf course, which hosted the 89th Philippine Open, was designed by the world-renowned J. Michael Poellet Design Group. The golf course has been previously awarded by the highly-regarded Asian Golf Monthly magazine as "the best golf course in the Philippines." The course's signature Mt. Makulot Hole No. 7 has also been voted by Golf Magazine as among the "Top 500 Best Holes in the World."

The Chairman's Cup is open to Mount Malarayat club members and guests/sponsors. The 18-hole competition begins with a shotgun tee-off format at the Mt. Lobo/ Mt. Malipunyo courses at 7:00 AM. The Stroke Play scoring system will be used on club members, while guests/sponsors will earn scores based on the System 36 mode. Classification shall be divided according to the number of participants in both the members and guests/sponsors categories.

One Texas Eagle and one Yamaha golf cart await the two lucky players who will make a hole-in-one during the competition. Giveaways and raffle prizes also await tournament participants.

Entry fees to the Mount Malarayat 14th Chairman's Cup are Php 1,500.00 for club members, Php 3,000.00 for guests/sponsors.
